Over the last two years I’ve basically stopped making new YouTube videos. That’s because since I gave up my Windows machine and bought an iMac, I haven’t been able to run Vegas. I’ve used Vegas since version one, when it was nothing but a multitrack audio editor (video tracks came later).
I bought Final Cut Pro, but could never get the hang of it. So I then bought Parallels and tried to run Windows Vista on my Mac so I could use Vegas, but that brought on a whole new set of problems with shared resources and constant updates, blah blah.
So today I finally decided to buy a new Windows Toshiba laptop for VIDEO ONLY. Seriously, it’ll have Vegas and Chrome installed - and that’s it. I’m excited to get back to making videos regularly again without any headache. It’s going to take 2 weeks to be custom built, but then, yeah, my new YouTube channel should be rockin’.
Here are the specs for all you hardware nerds out there:
- Intel Core i7 2670QM Quad-Core 2.2GHz processor
- 8GB DD3 1333MHz RAM
- 128GB SSD (Solid State main system/applications drive)
- 500GB HDD (7200rpm second internal hard disc drive for archiving projects)
- 1.5GB GDDR5 NVidia GeForce GTX 560M video card
- Blu-Ray Disc RE (Blu-Ray/CD/DVD double-layer burner)
It includes a 17.3” screen and Windows 7 64-bit.
Should be FUN to make new videos again. I mean, I’m basically having to start all over again on YouTube, because, while fallofautumndistro has 60,000+ subscribers, only about 2k of those are still active. I guess it’s time to break out my old book and learn how to reclimb the charts. ;)
