I’ve now got a SSD (solid state drive) as my OS/programs drive. Because of the nature of SSD drives (SUPER-DUPER-MIND-BLOWINGLY fast, but limited write cycles before they die), I wanted to move non-essential write-heavy things off of the C drive (like my web browser that is constantly caching and writing temp files, but isn’t mission critical).
Unfortunately Chrome won’t allow you to install it anywhere but on the C drive, which is ridiculous in the current computing world.
So I’m falling back in love with Firefox. Installed on my D drive (which is a plain old boring 7,200 rpm HDD).
Firefox is so great, and I can’t believe how customizable it has become… I can make it look and act exactly as I want it to via CSS.
I know… no one cares. But I didn’t have any animated gifs in the queue, so this is what you get. Speaking of, does anyone else find it funny that internetting has just come full circle from terrible pixelated animated gifs of bananas dancing on geocities pages… to super hi-res animated gifs of Brian in a banana suit dancing on tumblr? Imagine how hard we’re all going to make fun of tumblr in five years.
